Appointments

Booking an Appointment

The practice operates an appointments system and you can arrange an appointment by contacting our reception desk on (01506) 771800.

Appointments are available on weekdays between 8.30am and 4.30pm, though 2 mornings per week we have 2 GPs commencing at 7am. You may request to see any doctor in the practice, not just the one you are registered with. Please ask the receptionist if you have a preference but bear in mind that you may not be able to see this doctor if you request is urgent.

If you need to be seen urgently, please tell the receptionist and we will see you as soon as possible. Please note that in this situation, the receptionist may well ask you the nature of your illness. This is to allow the doctor to decide how urgent your problem is. In some instances you will be asked to discuss the problem directly with the doctor, so that he/she may decide on the most appropriate action.

If you feel you need seen before the first available appointment, then you can phone at 8am to arrange an appointment that day, though this is not guaranteed.

Telephone Appointments

We currently offer several telephone appointments with GPs every day, and if you feel this is appropriate, you can ask the receptionist to book a telephone appointment with a GP.  These are available every morning and afternoon.

Home Visits

If you require a home visit, please telephone (01506) 771800 before 10am, if possible. On requesting a visit, you will be asked the nature of your complaint. This is to allow the doctor to arrange his/her work according to the urgency of each person’s condition. You may well be asked to speak to the “duty doctor” about your request.

If your case is a medical emergency, tell the receptionist and she will contact the doctor immediately.
